Real freedom is spiritual. It is an escape from the oppression of Satan. To OPPRESS is "to exercise dominion or authority against"¹. Therefore OPPRESSION is the act of using authority to harm others. OPPRESSION is the trademark of the devil. Sickness, disease and many other evil manifestations are the evidence of satanic oppression². LEGAL OPPRESSION This is when Satan oppresses those that are under his authority. Satan has authority over every one who is not a child of God. Legal oppression can also be as a result of sin [including fear, unbelief and disobedience to the word of God]. ILLEGAL OPPRESSION This is when Satan oppresses those who are not under his authority. It is when Satan oppresses the children of God. One small lesson I have learnt from the word of God is never to doubt or question God's ability. All things are possible with God. There is nothing too hard for Him to do. But if I desire help from God my faith must be in two of His eternal attributes. 1. I need faith in the MERCY of God. 2. And I need faith in the POWER or ability of God. There were terrible consequences, in the Old Testament, for those who doubted the ability of God.
