When You Know God Loves You, Everything Changes
When You Know God Loves You, Everything Changes
- By Nicholas Uanikhoba
There’s a difference between believing something is
true and being changed by it.
That’s how it is with the love of God. You can hear it, memorize it, even
repeat it to others—but until it settles deep into your bones, it won’t anchor
you. When it does, though? Everything changes.
In Matthew 8, we meet a man whose life was shaped by
isolation and pain—a person with leprosy who dared to approach Jesus. And he
said something striking:
"Lord, if You are willing, you can make me clean."
He wasn’t unsure about Jesus’ ability. He didn’t say, “Can
You?”
He knew Jesus could. The question was, “Are You willing?”
That’s the question that haunts so many hearts today. We believe God is
powerful—but is He good? Is He personal? Is He loving toward me?
Jesus’ answer was immediate and tender: “I am willing.”
And then, He touched him. A man who hadn’t been touched in who knows how long.
That moment of healing reveals so much more than divine
power—it reveals the Father’s heart.
Prayer Changes When You See God as Father
A chapter earlier, Jesus said something we often gloss over.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
He’s not distant. Not stingy. Not indifferent.
And Jesus makes it personal:
If human fathers—flawed and limited—still know how to give good gifts, how much more will your Father in heaven?
That comparison is meant to unlock something in us. Think
about it:
If you knew your earthly father had the means, and you were in a medical
crisis, you’d call him without hesitation. You’d expect him to help—because you
know his heart.
Jesus is inviting us to see God that way. And more.
God’s “I Can” and God’s “I Will”
Paul echoes this in Romans 8:32, saying,
“He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?”
This is the logic of love.
God’s “I can” flows from His power—He created galaxies and holds all things
together. But His “I will”? That’s born from love.
A love that is unwavering. Personal. Relentless.
And when we bring our needs to Him, we don’t just approach a cosmic force—we
approach a Father.
It doesn’t mean we always get the outcome we hope for. But
it does mean that every need is met by a love that answers wisely and
fully—even when the answer is “not yet,” or “not this way.” His love is
always equal to the task.
The Foundation Beneath It All
When we know—really know—that God loves us, our faith
becomes rooted.
Not in circumstances. Not in outcomes.
But in the unshakable truth that we are seen, known, and held by a Father who
is both able and willing.
That’s why knowing and believing this kind of love isn’t a
luxury. It’s a foundation.
Everything else rests on it.
Has this truth anchored you? Or are you still wrestling
with the question: “Is God really willing?”
You’re not alone. But keep pressing in. Because when you know God loves you—personally—it
will change everything.
