SCIENCE, FAITH, AND AUTHORITY
Reclaiming Our God-Given Dominion
🔔 A Kingdom Reminder
As children of God, we carry divine authority in Christ. This authority is not earned but delegated by Jesus and rooted in our identity as citizens of heaven.
“Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” — Luke 9:1–2
The seventy He later sent came back rejoicing:
“Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!” — Luke 10:17
Jesus reminded them that their true joy should be in their eternal identity, not just in visible manifestations of power:
“Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
— Luke 10:20
👣 The Fall of Satan – A Vagabond Spirit
“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” — Luke 10:18
Satan was cast out of heaven and now roams the earth as a vagabond spirit (see Job 1:7, 1 Peter 5:8, Revelation 12:9). When Adam was created, he was given dominion over all the earth (Genesis 1:26–28). Although Scripture doesn’t directly say Adam had the power to expel Satan, his dominion implies he could have resisted the enemy’s intrusion in the garden.
Instead, when Satan tempted Eve through the serpent, and Adam followed in disobedience, authority was forfeited and mankind fell under Satan’s influence.
🕊️ Christ Restores Our Authority
Jesus, the last Adam, came to reclaim what the first Adam lost (1 Corinthians 15:45–49). Through Him, we are:
-
Restored to divine authority
-
Registered as citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20)
-
Appointed as ambassadors of God’s Kingdom (2 Corinthians 5:20)
“These signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons…”
— Mark 16:17
Our authority is effective only when used. Authority ignored is authority lost in practice.
🛡️ Resisting the Enemy with Faith
The devil has no right to dominate a believer who stands firm in faith:
“Be sober, be vigilant… resist him, steadfast in the faith…”
— 1 Peter 5:8–9
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
— James 4:7
Faith is built on the Word of God. If Satan can steal the Word from you, he can weaken your resistance. But when you stand firm in the Word, you are unstoppable.
👀 Recognizing Satan’s Work
Though Satan is invisible, his influence can be recognized through fear, confusion, oppression, or sickness. The disciples didn’t physically see spirits, but they knew them by their effects.
Satan spoke through a serpent to Eve. Today, he may use people, symptoms, or circumstances to try to gain access to your life.
🔬 Faith and Science are Not Enemies
Science deals with what can be seen, measured, and tested. Faith deals with the unseen (Hebrews 11:1). They serve different purposes, but they need not contradict each other.
✅ Science can diagnose.
✅ Faith can discern and overcome.
Some diseases may have demonic roots (Acts 10:38), but not all sickness is caused by Satan. Jesus clarified this in John 9:1–3. Some conditions exist so that God’s glory may be revealed.
Let’s engage medical science wisely—but first engage the authority of faith.
💥 When Science Fails, Faith Still Speaks
“With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
— Mark 10:27
“All things are possible to him who believes.”
— Mark 9:23
Where human knowledge ends, God’s power begins. Your faith can outlast every report, because God’s Word is eternal.
🚶♂️ Use Your Authority in Christ
“Behold, I give you the authority… over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” — Luke 10:19
You don’t need to feel “special” to use authority. You just need to obey. The condition is clear:
“Submit to God. Resist the devil.”
That’s the stance for victory.
📣 Declarations of Faith
Speak these boldly in the name of Jesus:
-
“Satan, I forbid you access to me and mine.”
-
“You shall not use anything God created to harm me.”
-
“No man, woman, beast, element, or circumstance shall hurt me.”
-
“In the name of Jesus, get out of my territory.”
-
“You will not devour my peace, purpose, or health.”
I raise the blood of Jesus as the standard against you.
🙏 A Final Encouragement
Use your God-given authority. Don’t give Satan space. Don’t wait until he wreaks havoc. Act early, speak boldly, and walk daily in the dominion Christ has given you.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God…”
— Romans 8:28
You are not walking in presumption. You’re walking in obedience. And obedience releases power.
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You for restoring authority to us through Christ. Teach us to live submitted to Your Word and Spirit. Help us to recognize the enemy’s tactics and resist him by faith. Strengthen us to stand boldly and enforce the victory of Jesus in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
