Judging People Like We Judge Cars: A Dangerous Deception
A Strange Question on the Road
A few weeks ago, on the road, I noticed the different colors of cars around me. Nothing unusual—until a question suddenly interrupted my thoughts:
"What if someone judged these cars based solely on their colors?"
It seemed absurd. A car’s color tells you nothing about its quality, performance, or engineering. And yet, isn't this exactly what happens when people judge one another by skin color?
The Superficiality of Skin-Deep Judgment
Imagine someone refusing to buy a car just because they dislike its color, ignoring the powerful engine, the craftsmanship, and the purpose it was built for. Wouldn't that be an ignorant way to judge a vehicle?
Now, apply that to human beings. When we judge others by skin color, we ignore their character, gifts, and God-given value. Worse still, we insult the One who created them.
The Real Source of Division
The problem isn’t diversity—it’s division. God created people with differences in appearance, culture, and background, but He never intended those differences to divide us.
The Bible warns us:
"To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." (Romans 8:6)
Who benefits from racial division? The enemy does. Satan thrives on separation, strife, and destruction. When we participate in racism or discrimination—whether consciously or unconsciously—we fall into his trap.
Breaking Free from Division
As believers, we must make a choice: Will we align with the spirit of division or the Spirit of God?
Here are three ways to break free:
1️⃣ Examine Your Own Heart – Are there subconscious biases you need to surrender to God? Ask Him to reveal any areas where you need His truth.
2️⃣ Refuse to Be an Agent of Division – Whether in conversation, policies, or attitudes, reject anything that fosters racial prejudice or superiority.
3️⃣ Live Out the Gospel – See people as God sees them. Value them beyond their appearance and speak truth and love into every environment you’re in.
Conclusion: Choose Life Over Division
Racism is more than a social issue—it’s a spiritual stronghold. And strongholds are broken through truth, love, and the power of God's Word.
Choose to agree with God’s perspective. Walk in freedom, and help set others free.
