DECLARE YOUR HOPE

Hope is a powerful thing. We can sometimes feel hopeless naturally because of present circumstances. But no child of God who understands his or her identity in Christ should ever be hopeless again.

It is important for every child of God to first understand the principle that raised Christ from the dead.

● He believed in hope.

● He constantly declared His hope.

● And he acted His hope.

● He lived by His hope.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest IN HOPE

For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (‭Psalms 16:9-11 NKJV‬).

This was the attitude that allowed God to raise Him from the dead. His hope was founded in the promise of God to raise Him up¹.

Jesus died on the Cross, he was buried, and descended into hell. He held on to His hope even in hell. Hope is a matter of the heart. Everyone concluded that he was dead and gone. Doomed. No one believed that He would rise again even though he said it at different times in different ways that he was going to the Cross to die and rise again.

YOU SEE, HOPE IS A PERSONAL THING. Even in hell, Christ held on to the promise of his Father, the hope which he believed. He knew that he belonged at the right hand of God in heaven. Therefore he was glad and his spirit rejoiced even in hell. The resurrected Christ is the hope for those who believe in Him². The source of your hope is alive. Christ is the author of our hope because in him all the promises of God are Yes and Amen³.

All the promises of God belong to us in Christ. As the promise of God to raise Christ from the dead was stronger than death, the grave and hell; even so our promises in him are stronger than our circumstances. These promises define our real hope in whatever condition we find ourselves in.

■ His promises give us the hope of forgiveness.

■ His promises give us the hope of healing.

■ His promises give us the hope of provision.

■ His promises give us the hope of his help.

■ His promises give us the hope of his deliverance.

■ His promises give us hope in this life and in death.

■ His promises give us the hope of heaven.

Your situation may present itself to you as hopeless. But by looking to the promises of God you will lay hold of living hope. Through the promise of God we know what God is willing and able to do for us to reveal His glory.

That's what Abraham the father of faith knew. His body was DEAD, and Sarah's womb was also DEAD. The medical report said he was hopeless to have a child. But Abraham found living hope in the promise of God and believed it⁴.

Faith in the promise of God has power to change a contrary report if we follow the example of Jesus. Believe the promise of God. Declare the promise of God. Obey the promise of God. And persevere to thank God in hope. If you focus on the promise of God you will never be hopeless. You will always have reasons to be thankful and give glory to God. You are more than conqueror.
