Before God gave us the COMMANDMENT of love; He first gave us the EQUIPMENT or ABILITY to love. In the Old Testament I believe that equipment was more of His revelation of His to the Israelites.  In this dispensation of the New Testament the equipment to love is the actual indwelling of the person of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. "And hope makes not ashamed; because THE LOVE OF GOD is shed abroad IN OUR HEARTS by the HOLY GHOST which is given unto us ." (Romans 5:5). MANIFESTATION OF THE LOVE OF GOD ( 1 John 4:9-19). I used to think that there are THREE manifestations of THE LOVE OF GOD . I now know that they are FIVE . The death of Jesus Christ on the Cross was not an accident. It was planned by God for our good. It was ignorantly executed by WICKED HANDS. " Him, being DELIVERED by the DETERMINATE COUNSEL and FOREKNOWLEDGE OF GOD, you have TAKEN, and by WICKED HANDS have crucified and slain " (Acts 2:23). 1. DELIVERED...means: - Christ was GIVEN OUT to the enemy. - Christ was GIVEN OVER to the enemy.  - God SURRENDERED Him to the enemy. - Christ was DELIVERED UP to the power of the enemy. 2. TAKEN ...means: The enemy was able to TAKE Him only because God DELIVERED Him up to his power. 3. WICKED HANDS … It took wicked hands to kill Christ. HOW DOES THIS CONCERN US? Even by the testimony of those who betrayed and sentenced Him to death, Jesus was INNOCENT and RIGHTEOUS*.  But God had PLANNED that He should die for OUR SIN and OUR GUILT.
