UNDERSTAND THE PERSON IN FAITH
"These all died IN FAITH, not having received the promises, but having SEEN them afar off, and were PERSUADED of them, and EMBRACED them, and CONFESSED that they were STRANGERS and pilgrims on the earth." (Hebrews 11:13, emphasis added).
This marvelous section of the scriptures helps us to understand the truth about a person in faith.
1. A person in faith has A PROMISE from God the heavenly Father.
2. A person in faith has a vision. He or she SEES the reality of the promise of the heavenly Father afar off.
3. A person in faith is PERSUADED about the fulfillment of the vision from heaven.
4. A person in faith EMBRACES the responsibility of the fulfillment of the vision.
5. A person in faith CONFESSES that he or she is a STRANGER and PILGRIM on earth. In other words a person of faith is a peculiar person. He doesn't live like others. His life is driven by the vision of the promise from the heavenly Father.
Faith is not always about immediate results. Sometimes the timing of the result of faith is left to God. Some people "DIED IN FAITH, not having received the promises".
According to the divine program the timing of the result of their faith, the appointed time, was after they had left the earth. But it is written that they obtained a good report through faith.
"And these all, HAVING OBTAINED A GOOD REPORT THROUGH FAITH, received not the promise:
God having provided some better thing for us, THAT THEY WITHOUT US SHOULD NOT BE MADE PERFECT." (Hebrews 11:39-40).
You see, the vision did not die. Vision does not die. Divine promise does not fail.
FAITH IS ABOUT OBEYING GOD.
Faith means you have heard from God, the Invisible One, the Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth; and you have decided to obey Him alone against all odds. As Paul said; "I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision." (Act 26:19).
God is greater than all. Once you hear from God no other voice matters but to believe and obey God. The voice of circumstances, the devil, government, experts, age, time, economy, certificate, weakness or any other voice; does not matter to faith once you have heard from God.
THE ULTIMATE VISION of a person of faith is to arrive in heaven. That is one result of faith that cannot be received until the appointed time of death.
If you have a vision of going to heaven then you must embrace the promise from Jesus Christ.
"Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:1-2, 6).
This is the ultimate promise of God. You must believe and continue to obey this heavenly vision. Let your faith rest entirely on the promise of God.
