STEPS TO ANSWERED PRAYER

"Therefore I say unto you, What THINGS soever YOU DESIRE, when YOU PRAY, BELIEVE that YOU RECEIVE them, and YOU SHALL HAVE THEM." (Mark 11:24).

1. FIND THE WORD. (2 Peter 1:3-4).

What THINGS soever you desire can be found in the promise of God. The promise is either pointing to A THING that pertains TO LIFE or to A THING that pertains to GODLINESS. In other words there is a word of God for what you desire. God and His word are one. If you can find His promise you can have faith in God (Mark 11:22). It is the will of God for you to have what He promised.

2. DESIRE IT.

Desire the thing promised by God. Desire is a hunger of the heart. What you desire has become a necessity. For example, air is a necessity. You have a natural desire for air. Therefore you have to breathe. If  you don't breathe you will die. When you need a thing promised by God like you need air, it has become a desire of your heart.

THE POWER POINT OF PRAYER

Desire is the driver of your prayer. It will determine whether your prayer is heartfelt and continued. It determines the fervency of your prayer. It determines your consistency. It determines whether prayer becomes your lifestyle. Desire must be clearly established for there to be drive in your prayer. Desire gives you focus and expectation in prayer.

3. ASK IT.

Ask God for the thing desired. That's prayer. Faith is expressed through prayer. You believe, then you ask. From our illustration above, prayer is like breathing in the spirit. It connects us to life in the spirit. If you don't pray you are choosing to die spiritually. In breathing there is a connection between your lungs and your nose. In prayer there is a connection between your spirit and your mouth.

4. BELIEVE IT.

Believe that God has granted your desire through your prayer.

5. RECEIVE IT.

Receive the thing you desired and prayed for. Receiving is also by faith because you believe that God has granted what you asked for. Say it to God, "I believe that you have granted my desire that I asked of you. I receive it."

6. MOVE THE MOUNTAINS.

Command any hindrance to the manifestation of your desire to be removed. You can tell the hindrance "God said it is mine, you can't stand in my way." Everything and every voice that speaks against having your desire must be silenced by the voice of your faith.

7. HAVE IT.

Stay in faith until you have your desire in manifestation. Add patience to your faith. Abide in love by making sure you have forgiven everyone who has offended you. At this stage you must beware of the trap of offense.

The difference between 'RECEIVE YOUR DESIRE' and 'HAVE YOUR DESIRE' is like the difference between when a woman is confirmed to be pregnant and when the baby is born. You will experience or hold your desire in your hand when you HAVE IT.

IN CONCLUSION, your desire is the fuel for your prayer and your faith. With your desire in place you will persist in prayer and you will speak against every mountain on the way to the fulfilment of your desire (Mark 11:22-24).
