THE PATHWAY OF LIFE

"In THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS is life; and in the PATHWAY thereof there is no death."

                              - Proverbs 12:28.

Righteousness has a way; the pathway of life. Sin also has a way; the pathway of death.

But we know that God has given to us the gift of righteousness; the gift of life.

How does the gift of righteousness connect with walking in the way of righteousness?

The scripture makes the connection between the two.

"...he that DOES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, even as HE IS RIGHTEOUS.

Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for HIS SEED REMAINS in him: and he CANNOT SIN, because he is born of God."

(1 John 3:7, 9).

The gift of righteousness is the same as the seed of righteousness within us.

The Holy Spirit within us is the gift of righteousness. He is the grace of God. He is a person.

He is the gift of God that we should allow to possess us. He is in us to make us servants of righteousness.

"Being then made free from sin, you became the SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS." (Romans 6:18).

The Holy Spirit is the one to lead us in the way of righteousness. We cannot walk in the way of righteousness without Him.

If we have the gift of righteousness we should be found in the way of righteousness.

We cannot consistently walk in the way of sin and claim to have the gift of righteousness.

If we step in the pathway of sin we should know. The Holy Spirit will convict us to bring us back in the way of righteousness.

If we don't step back in the way of righteousness then we cannot claim to be righteous.

There is no condemnation in the walk of righteousness. It is not a perfect walk in the flesh.

But  it is a walk of obedience to the Spirit of God within us. It is a Spirit led life.

He is your life.

He is your wisdom.

He is your righteousness.

He is your sanctification.

He is your redemption.

He is Christ in you, the hope of glory*.

He is the seed of righteousness in you; for you to bear the fruit of righteousness in your walk.

So stop beating up on yourself;

if you have been walking in the pathway of sin against your own will.

If you have been struggling to get out of sin, it is because you don't yet have the seed of righteousness in you.

Jesus Christ is the seed of righteousness. If you receive Him, He will teach you and help you to walk in the way of righteousness by His Spirit of grace. He will give you life.

There is need for a constant prayer fellowship with the Holy Spirit. "Lord Holy Spirit; show me, teach me, help me, to walk in the way of righteousness. Strengthen me to stay in the path of life"
