VALUE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Righteousness is a precious gift from God to us. Without it we have no access to God and we have no hope of answered prayer. Righteousness is what makes God your Father. It is the righteous that God partners with to change things on the earth. The power of God flows through the prayer of the righteous. In fact God is watching and waiting on the prayer of the righteous for Him to intervene in the earthly matters.
God is waiting to hear the righteous say, "Father, let your kingdom come; let your will be done on earth concerning this situation." He is waiting to hear the righteous enforce His will on earth through fervent and heartfelt prayers.
"For the eyes of the Lord are over the RIGHTEOUS, and his ears are open unto THEIR PRAYERS: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." (1 Peter 3:12).
"Confess your faults one to another, and PRAY one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent PRAYER of a RIGHTEOUS MAN avails much.
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he PRAYED EARNESTLY that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he PRAYED again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit." (James 5:16-18).
YOUR BLESSING IS WAITING ON YOUR PRAYER.
It means that the blessing of the righteous (which are in heavenly places in Christ Jesus) will not manifest on earth until they put a demand on it through prayer.
"O you that HEARS PRAYER, unto you shall all flesh come.
By terrible things IN RIGHTEOUSNESS will you ANSWER us, O God of our salvation; who is the CONFIDENCE of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea" (Psalms 65:2, 5).
One of the ways the righteous express confidence in God is through prayer. By making you the righteousness of God in Christ, God has given you privileged access into His presence to receive answers to your prayers. He is waiting to hear you pray.
"And therefore will the LORD WAIT, that HE MAY BE GRACIOUS UNTO YOU, and therefore will He be exalted, that HE MAY HAVE MERCY UPON YOU: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: you shall weep no more: HE WILL BE VERY GRACIOUS UNTO YOU at the VOICE OF YOUR CRY; when HE SHALL HEAR IT, he WILL ANSWER YOU." (Isaiah 30:18-19).
O Lord help us not to waste this awesome gift of righteousness.
