The PROMISE of LONG LIFE

"For ALL THE PROMISES of God IN HIM are yes, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

(2 Corinthians 1:20).

Let's examine one promise of God for us in Christ Jesus.

"With long life will I SATISFY him, and shew him my salvation." (Psalms 91:16).

To SATISFY is "to meet the expectations, needs, or desires of someone for something." God has promised in Christ to meet your expectation, need or desire for a long life. You can desire and expect a long life.

It is not the supplier of a product that determines when you are satisfied. It is always the consumer of the product who determines when he or she is satisfied. It is also the responsibility of the consumer to know what quantity of the product is available to him.

THE SUPPLY OF LIFE

God made clear the length of life available when He said, "My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be AN HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS." (Genesis 6:3).

He further concretized the promise by saying; "... THE NUMBER OF YOUR DAYS I WILL FULFIL." (Exodus 23:26).

God has committed Himself, in Christ Jesus, to supply to you one hundred and twenty years. That's the number of your days written in His book. You have to place a demand by faith for the length of life you need as you continue to abide in Christ.

It means that premature death is not the will of God for you in Christ. Death cannot be forced on you by Satan. He doesn't have that authority anymore (Hebrews 2:14-15). When you die is now a matter of choice, depending on when you are satisfied. In Christ Jesus, the promise of God is for you to fall asleep when you are satisfied.

YOUR LIFESTYLE

However you will express your choice through your lifestyle of faith and obedience to God. There is a way you should live.

  • You should live for the purpose of Christ (Psalms 118:17, Philippians 1:21-25).

  • There is a way you should think. Think of a long and good life.

  • There is a way you should speak. Speak life.

  • There is a way you should eat. Don't eat poison by choice.

"What man is he that desires LIFE, and loves MANY DAYS, that he may see good?

Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile.

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." (Psalms 34:12-14).

PACKAGE OF SALVATION

Now let's look at the other side of the promise. "...and SHOW HIM MY SALVATION." (Psalms 91:16).

As long as you are not yet satisfied with the number of days that you have lived, God is committed in Christ to show you His salvation in the form of healing, deliverance, protection, preservation and provision.

  • You will not die by sickness or disease.

  • You will not die by wicked hands.

  • You will not die from any plague.

  • You will not die by accident.

  • You will not die of hunger.

  • You will not die by poison.

  • You will not die prematurely

  • You will not die under judgment.

In the name of Jesus Christ God will show you His salvation; you will live until you are satisfied.
