FREEDOM AND PROSPERITY
"And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus says the LORD, Let my people go, THAT THEY MAY SERVE ME." (Exodus 8:1).
If you are not willing and ready to serve God you are not ready to be free. You will not be able to keep your freedom.
To reenforces the truth that the purpose of freedom is serving God; we are further told why God brought out Israel from Egypt.
"That they might observe His statutes, and keep His laws. Praise you the LORD." (Psalms 105:45).
HOW TO MEASURE FREEDOM
Freedom is not just about DELIVERANCE and TRANSLATION. Whether from Egypt to the promised Land. Or from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God. There is more to freedom. In this life freedom is measured by the quality of life we live after deliverance. It is measured by the level of substance we bring into the service of the Lord.
"He brought them forth also with SILVER and GOLD: and there was NOT ONE FEEBLE PERSON among their tribes.
And He brought forth his people WITH JOY, and his chosen WITH GLADNESS" (Psalms 105:37, 43).
Thank God for His word
1. They had silver and gold.
2. They had perfect health.
3. They had joy.
4. They had gladness.
Don't be surprised about the order. Yes, our greatest joy and gladness comes from serving. But the level of your joy and gladness is influenced by the amount of your silver and gold; and the state of your health. That is true prosperity in the scripture. It is always in the context of freedom and serving the Lord. It's not about greed, selfishness or class.
THE STRATEGY OF THE ENEMY
The enemy may not be able to stop your DELIVERANCE. But he is always fighting your PROSPERITY. He wants to limit your ability to serve the Lord. The greatest attack of the enemy against the people of God is directed at their finances or their health. It is either on their wealth or it is on their health. These two represent the outward prosperity of God's people. It determines how well they can serve God or man (their family, community and nation).
The strategy of the enemy is to attack the prosperity of the people of God and stop their increase. That's not surprising; because God's greatest pleasure is the prosperity of His people.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that you may PROSPER and BE IN HEALTH, even as YOUR SOUL PROSPERS." (3 John 1:2).
The level of your willingness and obedience to serve the Lord is the level of the prosperity of your soul.
THE DECREE OF GOD
The decree of God is already written against the enemy.
"Cry yet, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; My cities through PROSPERITY shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem." (Zechariah 1:17).
And the Lord has ordained that every enemy of the prosperity of His people must be confronted and spiritually silenced*.
In conclusion, child of God, after you make up your mind to serve the Lord, you can ask Him to prosper you for and in His service. Always command the enemy of your prosperity to be destroyed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have God's backing for it.
