NEVER QUESTION GOD'S ABILITY
If you desire help from God your faith must be in two of His attributes.
You need faith in the MERCY of God.
You need faith in the POWER of God.
One little lesson I have learnt from the word of God is never to doubt or question God's ability. In the Old Testament it had terrible consequences for those who did. In this dispensation of Christ it is a sure way to miss out on your miracle. We can learn from the faith of two blind men who came to Jesus Christ.
"And when Jesus departed thence, TWO BLIND men followed him, crying, and saying, You Son of David, HAVE MERCY ON US.
And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe you that I AM ABLE to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
Then touched he their eyes, saying, ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH be it unto you." (Matthew 9:27-29).
It could have been any two persons who had the same need. That means, it could be you and whatever your need is now. It is not enough to cry out for His MERCY. You also need faith in His ABILITY. There was a leper who understood that the two must be in place for him to receive his healing.
"When Jesus was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
And, behold, there came a leper and WORSHIPPED HIM, saying, Lord, if YOU WILL, YOU CAN make me clean.
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I WILL; be you clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed." (Matthew 8:1-3).
THE WILLINGNESS OF GOD is His grace. It is His mercy. That has been settled forever with the coming of Christ and His death on the Cross.
"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32).
If it is forgiveness you need God is willing (merciful) to give it to you through Christ Jesus.
Whatever you need; His grace and mercy is available to supply it right now. But you must not doubt or question His ability to do so. That is unbelief.
Unbelief questions God's ability.
Faith acknowledges God's ability.
You must not consider your need bigger than His ability. That's an insult that God always takes personally. It makes Him angry.
Is the God who raised Jesus from the dead after three days not able to handle your situation by the same resurrection power?
Moses, the great intercessor for Israel understood how sensitive God is about His ability. He made it a strong reason in his plea to God.
"Now if you shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,
Because the LORD was NOT ABLE to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
And now, I beseech you, let the POWER OF MY LORD be great, according as you have spoken, saying,
The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy ..." (Numbers 14:15-18).
People who questioned God's ability in the Old Testament paid terribly for it.
"Yea, they spake against God; they said, CAN GOD furnish a table in the wilderness?
Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; CAN HE give bread also? CAN HE provide flesh for his people?
Therefore the LORD HEARD THIS, and was WROTH: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and ANGER also came up against Israel;
Because they BELIEVED NOT in God, and TRUSTED NOT IN HIS SALVATION" (Psalms 78:19-22).
See also 2 Kings 7:1-2.
TRUE WORSHIP must praise the MERCY and ABILITY of God.Faith worships God. I have made a vow never to question the ability of God; no matter the circumstances. I will rather praise His mercy and ability
"LORD, you are forever ABLE. Have mercy (on me) (on us) … in the name of Jesus Christ."
