YOU SHALL NEVER BE ASHAMED!
If you believe in Christ God has promised that you shall NEVER be ashamed.
"Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him SHALL NOT BE CONFOUNDED." (1 Peter 2:6).
You shall not be confounded(i) means, "He that believes on Him shall not . . .
. . . be shamed down.
. . . be disgraced.
. . . be put to the blush.
. . . be dishonoured.
. . . be ashamed.
. . . be made ashamed.
. . . blush with shame.
If you believe in Christ, you are now in Christ and you belong to the nation of peculiar people. You are God's people. You are a child of God. You have obtained mercy. You shall never be ashamed.
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, A PECULIAR PEOPLE; that you should SHEW FORTH THE PRAISES OF HIM who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Which in time past were not a people, BUT ARE NOW THE PEOPLE OF GOD: which had not obtained mercy, but NOW HAVE OBTAINED MERCY." (1 Peter 2: 9-10).
". . . and MY PEOPLE shall NEVER BE ASHAMED." (Joel 2:26, 27).
The promise that we shall not be ashamed should be receive through faith in what Jesus Christ has done for us in His death, burial and resurrection. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes and Amen.
IT TAKES FAITH NOT TO BE ASHAMED!
"Father, let me not be ashamed!"
That prayer might sound very humble; but for a child of God it is either born out of ignorance or unbelief. Only an unbeliever who doesn't know what Christ has done for him or her is permitted to pray such a prayer. Such a person cannot call God Father. They can only cry for mercy.
No father would want his children to go through shame without a plan to glorify them. It was so with our Lord Jesus Christ.
If God wanted you to be ashamed He would not have allowed Jesus Christ, His Son, to go to the Cross and die for your sin; descend into hell and raise Him up on the third day. For Jesus, it was a road that took Him through bearing our shame to enter into His glory. That glory now belongs to all who would believe in Him.
CALL UPON THE LORD WITH FAITH.
Those who believe in the sacrifice of Christ should thank God that He has delivered them from shame; no matter what they are going through. They should anticipate the glory. Through their faith the experience will lead to glory.
"For the scripture saith, Whosoever believes on Him SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that CALL UPON HIM." (Romans 10:11-12).
God is rich enough to take care of any need in your life. The only condition is that you call upon Him in faith.
Moreover it is written; "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32).
The divine promise that we shall not be ashamed is anchored on the sacrifice and triumph of Christ. No matter what you are going through right now, you will never be ashamed. In the name of Jesus Christ, you will see the glory of God.
If you let your faith begin at the Cross; your shame will also end at the Cross.
PRAYER DECLARATION
Father I thank you for the blood of Jesus Christ. By faith in the blood that Jesus Christ shed for me on the Cross at Calvary, I now declare that shame will not be my end. I shall never be ashamed; now and in eternity! I will see the glory of God in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
