BECOMING FULLY PERSUADED: An aspect of faith

“ And being FULLY PERSUADED that, what he had PROMISED , he was ABLE also to perform .” (Romans 4:21). God will not force us to believe. But He persuades us to believe. If God gives you a promise, He is also able to bring it to pass, no matter how impossible it may seem to you. God Himself is determined to convince you on this most important factor of faith - faith in His ability.  Abraham was a hundred years old. Sarah, his wife, was ninety. His body was dead. Sarah's womb was dead. Yet God assured him that he was going to have a son by Sarah; through whom He will make him a father of many nations.  UNPRECEDENTED PROMISE   Put yourself in the place of Abraham. Would you have believed? It was going to be an unprecedented miracle. It has never happened before. There was no reference for it until then since time began. To bring His promise to pass, it was the responsibility of God to persuade Abraham that He was able to quicken both his body and Sarah's womb. It was after...

IT IS WELL WITH YOU.

“IT IS WELL." WHAT DOES IT MEAN? The word WELL is used five times in this woman's testimony¹.  “ And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray you, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again. And he said, Wherefore will you go to him today? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, IT SHALL BE WELL. So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite: Run now, I pray you, to meet her, and say unto her, IS IT WELL WITH YOU?   IS IT WELL WITH YOUR HUSBAND?   IS IT WELL WITH THE CHILD ? And she answered, "IT IS WELL. ” (2 Kings 4:22-23, 25-26, KJV). “Well” occurs five times! PEACE The word translated WELL five times in the KJV Bible is the Hebrew word SHALOM, translated as PEACE in many other places in the Bible. For example it is translated as PEACE in Isaiah 53:5....

PATH TO RESTORATION

You can have a restoration of anything you have lost by resting on the PEACE that God has provided for us through Christ Jesus.  We have the story of the Shunammite, a great woman of substance, whose son Prophet Elisha raised from the dead¹. You can take time to read that portion of scripture again before or after reading this post. YOUR DESIRE IS IMPORTANT! Faith and prayer works with our desire. “ Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you DESIRE , when you PRAY , BELIEVE that you receive them, and you shall have them .” (Mark 11:24). Our desire does not only specify what we want; it is also our readiness to receive them from God. We must desire what God has promised. To begin with, this woman didn't desire a child. You can discern that from her own words to the Prophet. " Then she said, Did I DESIRE a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me? " (2 Kings 4:28). And her response to Elisha when he first gave her the prophecy of the birth of her son complet...

DYNAMICS OF GODLY RICHES

As far as riches is concerned, there is a general admonition of scripture for all the children of God. This knowledge forms the foundation of financial stewardship.  " But GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT is GREAT GAIN . For we brought nothing into this world, and  IT IS CERTAIN we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content ." (1 Timothy 6:6-8). Once you understand this, you will cultivate the right attitude towards riches. When you are thinking of being rich you will not be thinking only about yourself. You will be thinking empowerment to help others; to leave an inheritance for your children and the generation after you. To keep riches for yourself is foolishness¹. It is one way to hurt yourself², or even die. If you are only thinking about yourself, you need to learn to be content with food, raiment, and shelter.  THE GOAL IS NOT TO BE RICH FOR YOURSELF  There is a warning in the scriptures for those who want to be rich without the...
